Hodge, Lillie Day

Lillie Day Hodge, age 88, of Christiansburg died, Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was born in Gold Bond, VA on December 27, 1924 to the late Thomas Jackson Day, Sr., and Roba Irean Sarver Day. She was also preceded in death by her husband George F. Hodge, five brothers, Thomas J. Day, Jr., Robert L. Day, Paul M. Day, Gene Day, Bill Day, and a grandson, Johnny Mark Linkinoggor. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dale Echols, of Blacksburg, son, Greg Lafon, Sr., of Christiansburg, sisters, Martha D. Baisden, of Christiansburg, Dorothy Day Skroblus, of Hurricane, UT, Gerlean D. Mabe, of Ridgeway, brothers J. Edward Day, of Pembroke, Dewey E. Day, of Gold Bond, Walter Day, of Appomattox, VA, grandchild, Greg Lafon, Jr., and wife Ashley, great-grandchild, Collins Lafon, all of Elizabethton, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews; special friends Paul and Sharon Sarver, Victory Restoration Church Family, and Joyce Grubb for many happy memories. Celebration of Lillie’s life will be conducted Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Victory Restoration Church, Christiansburg, Va. with Pastor Ray Kingrea officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until service time on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Central & Western Va Chapter-Roanoke Region, 2728 Colonial Ave. Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24015.
