Huff, Ora Radford

Ora Frances Radford Huff, 96, of Floyd, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2013. She was glad to be relieved of this earthly body and looked forward to being in Christ’s presence. Mother was a lifelong homemaker, very talented as a professional seamstress and an excellent cook, always inviting others to join her and “Little Boy” in their meals. She loved flowers and was blessed with a green thumb. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren and always enjoyed being a part of this faith. She will be joining her loved ones; her husband of 61 years, Ewell Vane “Little Boy” Huff; her father, Peter Bernard Radford; her mother, Lula Jane Sweeney Radford; a baby sister, Marie Radford; and brothers, Wilton McRae Radford and Richard Garfield Radford. She is survived by her son, Dorsey Vane (Wanda) Huff; daughter, Joyce Marie (Larry) Reed; a grandson and wife, Timothy and Kathy Reed; and great- granddaughters, Kristine Marie and Lelia Coleen Reed. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Radford; and a niece, Annie Ruth Wood. Most recently Bonnie and Junior Harlow shared their home and provided excellent care for our mother. The family also appreciates the excellent care given by her daughter, Joyce Reed, Sally, Reggie, and Loretta. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin and the Chaplain Stuart Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
