Hutchison, Richard Dallas

Rev. Richard Dallas Hutchison, age 90, of Blacksburg died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on June 11, 1923 to the late Trace Charlie and Kathrine Alice Ratliffe Hutchison. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Hutchison; his second wife, Lena Mannon Hutchison; and eleven brothers and sisters. He was instrumental in starting a number of churches in his ministry, was a member of The Church of God, Blacksburg, and was WWII US Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Eula Hutchison of Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Ann and Frank Figgins of Appomattox, Catherine Cecelia and Donald Viles of Saltville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard D. and Linda Hutchison of Appomattox; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery, Intreped Hospice and Connie and John Pennington,. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard D. Hutchison, Rev. Jimmie Lee Price and Mr. David Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery, McCoy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Country Club Drive, SW. Blacksburg.
