Altmaier, Virginia M.

Virginia M. Altmaier, 47, of Kingston, Ill., died on Monday, July 22, 2013, in Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Ill. She was born on February 23, 1966, in Radford. She was born to Charles L. and Mary L. ( Fisher) Hixon.

Virginia served in the United States Air Force. She married Frank J. Altmaier on November 16, 2002, in Sycamore, Ill., and was a Graduate Office Support Specialist for Northern Illinois University. Virginia enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and being a grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Jamee (Dale) Sanders, of Columbia, Mo., and her son, Steven Flattum II. of Poplar Grove, Ill.; her grandchildren, Lillian and Carter Sanders; her mother, Mary Hixon; four sisters, Charlotte (Jerry) Cox, Kareen (Barry) Arnold, Trasa (Johnny) Jones, and Calli (Mark) Phillips; and her brother, James Hixon. She was predeceased by her father; and her brother, C.L. Hixon III. There will be a visitation held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk Street, Sycamore, IL 60178.
