Dowdy, Lafayette Munford

Mrs. Lafayette (Flossie) Dowdy, 87, passed away March 29, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Alderson, W. Va.

Lafayette formerly lived for many years at her home at 6407 Old Rt. 11, Dublin, Va. Lafayette was born June 10, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Emmett and Ruth Munford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dowdy and one daughter, Mildred Radcliffe, one sister, Violet Goodrich, and one brother, Alvin Munford.

Surviving are her daughter, Katherine and her husband, Carl Goins of Alderson, W. Va.; two sons, Harmon Webb and his wife, Pam of Pulaski, Va., and Douglas (Doug) Webb and his wife, Linda of Snowville, Va.; one brother, John Munford of Zuni, Va.; ten grandchildren, Dale, William, Sharon, Karen, Teresa Ann, Angie, Crystal, Cory, Emmett and Melissa Ann; and 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Lafayette will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va.
