Downes IV., James Edward

James Edward Downes IV, 39, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Downes III. and Megumi Downes.

He is survived by his wife, Sabrina Mae Ryckman Downes; children, Johnathan Ryckman/Downes, Travis Downes, Breeanna Downes, and Timothy Downes; brothers, Gary Downes and wife, Mary Ann, and Michael Downes and wife, Jenny; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Jim was a member of the Fairlawn Church of God and was the bus monitor for the church. He loved working on cars, being outdoors, fishing and hunting. Jim was a wonderful family man, who enjoyed traveling with his family. The family would like to thank everyone who has helped take care of Jim during this tragic time. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fairlawn Church of God, 7858 Peppers Ferry Blvd., Radford, with a funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg.
