Dryden, Robert D.

MemorialTreeRobert D. Dryden passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his home in Blacksburg, VA, on July 6th at the age of 71 and is predeceased by his Mother, Cleo Richardson.

Bob is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean Dryden; his daughter and son-in-law, Julie & Tim Hodge, grandchildren, Laura and Robert Hodge of Blacksburg, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Katy Dryden of Lubbock, TX, and their children and spouses, Alyse & Jonathon Lackey of Plainview, TX, Ellyn & Justin Hulsey of Sangor TX, and James & Natasha Anthony of Amarillo, TX; great-grandchildren, Emerson Anthony and Elizabeth Lackey. Bob was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on February 12, 1942. He graduated from Ponca City High School in May, 1960, and then served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He went on to earn a Bachelor and Master’s degree from Oklahoma State in 1967 and 1968; and a Ph.D., from Texas Tech University in 1971, all in Industrial Engineering and Management. At the time of his death, he was employed as a University Professor at Portland State University. A private family memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
