Cook, Henry Jackson

Henry Jackson (Jack) Cook, 74, of Draper, Va. departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. He was born in Wythe County on November 16, 1938, and was the son of the late William Henry Cook and Sarah Elizabeth Meredith Cook. He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Jackson Cook.

Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959 where he was honorably discharged. Surviving are Faithful wife of 52 years, Janet Lawson Cook. Son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery T. Cook and Jean Cook. Grandchildren and spouse, Angela Cook and Roger Smith, Ashley Cook, Melinda and Charlie Carr, Justin Cook, Brandyn Sayers, and Nathan Sayers. Great-grandchildren, Natalie, Zachary, Mason Scott, and Landry Carr. Brothers and spouse, Jimmy and Janie Cook, and Billy Cook. Sisters, Louise Cook and Linda Monday. Several nieces and nephews and other family members. Special family friend Lewis Quesenberry. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the S.W.VA. Veterans Cemetery, Dublin with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.
