Altizer, Frances Bishop

Frances Bishop Altizer, 73, of Riner, died, Friday, June 21, 2013, at Radford Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born in Montgomery Co., on April 4, 1940 to the late John William and Rosezella Thompson Bishop, and was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Ivan David Bishop.

She is survived by her sons, Rocky R. Altizer, of Riner, Ivan and Teresa Altizer, Blacksburg, Randy and Wanda Altizer, Riner, Mike and Shannon Altizer, Pulaski; daughter, Tammy Altizer Scacciaferro, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Stacie Altizer, Brandon Altizer, Amber Altizer, Nich Scacciaferro, Erica Scacciaferro, Whitney Leonard and husband, Josh, Abigail Altizer, Leighann Altizer; great-grandchildren, Austin Altizer, Adan Altizer, Kavon Altizer, Aveion Perez; sisters and brother-in-law, Virginia Hamblin and husband, Kenneth, Helen Linkous; special grandchildren, Ryan Rogers, Michael Goetz, Jessica Hilton; lifelong friends, Peggy Howard and Nancy J. Altizer; special niece, Kathy Surface. The family wishes to thank Joyce Woolwine from Radford Rehab. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
