Millirons, Wilma Phipps
Wilma Phipps Millirons, 68, of Dublin, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born December 17, 1944, in Tennessee. Wilma was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church; she also received a degree in Geriatrics and Human Services from New River Community College. She is preceded in death by her father, Silas Phipps; and her husband, Vance Millirons.
She is survived by her mother, Stella Wilder Myers; two granddaughters, Katlyn Marie Byrd and Andreana Byrd; two daughters, Connie and Steve Byrd, of Pulaski and Janet Millirons and companion, Rickey Umberger, of Little Creek; brother, Thomas and Donnie Phipps, of Little Creek; two sisters, Wanda and Denver Gray, of Seymour, Ind. And Irene and Terry Mullins, of Tazewell; stepmother, Betty Phipps, of Tazewell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Derick Cowan officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Millirons Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Bland Co. Rescue Squad, or the Millirons Church Cemetery Fund.
