Luckadoo, Samuel Ervin

Samuel Ervin Luckadoo, 76 of Christiansburg, passed into his Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Sam was born on May 23, 1937, in Montgomery County. He was the son of the late Monroe and Ruby Luckadoo. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Trump and Becky Bailey; stepson, Benton McGuire; and an infant son at birth. Sam was retired from Hooker Furniture with 32 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 40 years, Glada Luckadoo; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Marie Luckadoo; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and George Chafin; children, Laura Roop and husband, Ronnie, Mildred Whitescarver, Ramona Richards and husband, Kenny, Joyce Bain, and Darrell McGuire; special grandchildren, Jennifer McGuire, Janice McGuire and fiance, Adam Brown, and Tyler Roop; special nephew, John Minnick and wife, Nancy, of Yorktown; and special cousin, Joe LaRue and wife, Shirley, of Christiansburg. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd and the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment to follow in the White Rock Cemetery. Randy Kesler, William Preston Caldwell, John Minnick Sr., John Minnick Jr., Dallas Farmer, and Michael Strickland will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
