Henderson, Sherman Bruce

amem_bible.jpgSherman Bruce Henderson, 89, of Pulaski, Va., died Saturday morning, March 24, 2007 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born February 17, 1918 in Pulaski, Va., he was the son of the late Vergie Funk Henderson and Luther Cemour Henderson.

He was a long time member of the Radford Church of Christ. He retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in 1978 after 32 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Sue Gregory Henderson; two sisters, Mae H. Runyon and Mary H. Quesenberry. He is survived by two daughters, Patsy H. Smith of Pulaski and Kay H. Cupka and her husband, David off Charleston, S.C.; a grandson, Randell M. Smith and wife, Patricia, of Dublin, Va.; one granddaughter, Sherry S. Andrews and husband, Mark of Hampstead, N.C.; one stepgranddaughter, Tamara S. Cupka of Charleston, S.C.; three great-grandsons, Jared Mark Smith of Dublin, Va., Grant Andrews and Tyler Andrews of Hampstead, N.C.; and one step granddaughter, Roxanne Overcash of Charleston, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Brucie Gregory of Thomasville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special young lady, Brooke Kathleen Scott of Charleston, S.C.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Radford Church of Christ, 8th and Robertson, Radford, Va. with Mr. Jim Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Dublin, Va. Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2007 anytime after 2 p.m. at Steven’s Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, but for those who wish, they may make a memorial contribution to the Radford Church of Christ in Mr. Henderson’s memory.
