Moore, Dixie Lee

Dixie Lee Moore, 67, of Floyd County, formerly of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Falls Moore; and father, Phile Dixie Moore. Dixie Moore graduated from Patrick Henry High School, class of 1963, and earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia, class of 1967. She retired from the Salem VA Medical Center, where she worked as an RN for 23 years. Dixie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Zaglin Kirk and Jeff Kirk; and her grandchildren, Deanna and Richie Silver. There will be a private committal service at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013. A gathering will be held at 1 p.m. at First Methodist in Floyd. Friends are invited to come share remembrances and celebrate Dixie’s life.
