Kast Sr., Richard Lee
Richard Lee Kast Sr., 71, of Max Meadows, and formerly of Narrows, departed this life for his heavenly home Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center Salem after a long illness. Born in Kerns, Giles County, on March 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Clarence Joseph Kast and Alice Lafon Kast, of Narrows. He was raised in the nurture of the Holiness Faith, and was a retired pipefitter at Celanese. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Paul Kast Sr.(Sharon); his sister, Ruth K. Martin; and his twin siblings, Norman Eugene and Carylon Christine Kast. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Alice Lafon Kast, of Narrows; his devoted and faithful wife, Wanda Cordell Kast; his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Jr. and Jody Kast, of Rising Sun, Ind., Joseph Andrew and Sarah Kast, of Austinville, Mark Anthony and Marie Kast, of Narrows, Eric Dale and Michelle Kast, of Narrows; his daughters and sons-in-law, Madonna and Rick Overstreet, of Radford, Anita and Gary Weber, of Max Meadows; his 20 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Memphus Kast (Betty), of Narrows, Arnold Kast, of Narrows, Clarence Junior Kast (Penny), of Narrows; his sisters, Rachael Tate, of Narrows, Janet Bachelder (Tony), of Strong, Maine, Gloria Kast, of Narrows, and Barbara Elliott (Dennis), of Narrows. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastors Paul Terry and Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens at Narrows. Sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
