Davis, Kenneth K.

Kenneth (Kenny) Davis, 68, passed away on April 30, 2013 at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. He was born on February 3, 1945 in Montgomery County to William Lee Davis and Vivian Davis Long. Kenny grew up in Blacksburg, VA. and moved to Indiana in his early adulthood where he worked, raised a family and cultivated a host of life-long friends. Kenny moved back to Blacksburg in the late 80’s and married Sherri L. Cook in Blacksburg, VA. in 1993. They were happily married for 19 years. Kenny never met a stranger; people gravitated towards him and often sought his company and his counsel. His bright and easy smile will remain in loving memory by all of his adoring friends and family. His outlook never darkened; his spirit never strayed. He inspired us all with his determination to live life to the fullest with every minute he had. He is in heaven now talking about racing, BBQ, his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherri of Bluefield, WV., his children, Duane Davis (daughter-in-law, Stefanie Davis) and Stacie Hogan (son-in-law, Michael Hogan), mother, Vivian Davis Long, sibling, Sandra Graham, grandchildren, Dillon Davis and wife, Katie and daughter Abigail, Kristen Cole, Austin Davis, Amber Davis, Jordon Davis and Madeline Hogan, nephews, Bill Nolan and Jim Nolan, and other relatives. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, W. L. Davis. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Friends and family will gather at Sherri & Kenny’s home after the services. All are welcome. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 pm Saturday prior to service at McCoy Funeral Home Blacksburg.
