Smith, Walter Wallace

Walter Wallace Smith, 68, of Rich Creek, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was born January 28, 1945, in Giles County, the son of the late Vilson and Virgie Stafford Smith. He was also preceded by two brothers, Harley D. and Glenn Curtis Smith; a son, Todd Smith; an infant granddaughter, Alexis Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Chris Smith, Staffordsville; three brothers, Darwin and Mary Kay Smith, White Gate; Sherman and Virginia Smith, Pearisburg; Gerald and Demetra Smith, Abington; a sister-in-law, Francis Smith; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate with the Rev. Jim Conley officiating. The family will receive friends during visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made towards the funeral expenses.
