Barker, Nora Esther Sheppard

Nora Esther Sheppard Barker, 82, of Prices Fork, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 26, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Montgomery County on January 13, 1931, to the late Luther Crockett and Etta Emmaline Peters Sheppard. Esther was a very devoted christian and was a member of The Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Barker. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Calvin Dean and Patricia Barker; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Barker, all of Christiansburg; special friends, Chris and Crystal Dickerson, Ray and Nora Stover, Daniel, Randy, April and Katelyn Stover, Jonathan Heatherington; and many nieces nephews and wonderful friends who will miss her. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Cecil Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
