Griggs, Joyce Perdue

Joyce Elaine Perdue Griggs, 49 of Dublin, formerly of Narrows passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5th, 2013 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pearisburg on August 10th, 1963, and was the daughter of the late James Edward and Hazel Mae Orey Perdue. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Barry Perdue and John Perdue. A loving mother and grandmother, Joyce especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Derek Thomas Griggs and wife Tiffany of Dublin; two daughters, Ashley Dawn Griggs and fiancé’ David Hadidian of Blacksburg, and Rachel Kingery and husband Mark of Elliston; two grandchildren, Joyce Ann Griggs and Calli Dawn Kingery; a brother, Kenny Perdue and wife Susan of Lancaster, South Carolina; a sister, Yvetta Humble and husband Henry of Asheboro, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family wishes to express their appreciation for all the love and prayers shown during this time. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 8th, 2013 at 11 AM at Angels Rest Cemetery near Narrows with Barbara Weatherly officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.
