Davis, Darrell Glen

Darrell Glen Davis, 57, of Blacksburg, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem. He was a loving husband, father, and a friend to so many. He brought laughter and joy to everyone he met and had a smile that would light up the room. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Davis and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard E. and Nina P. Womack. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn Womack Davis, of Blacksburg; daughter, Ashley Davis, of Salem; son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Shannon Davis, of Christiansburg; mother, Evelyn C. Davis, of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, William C. Jr. and Terry Davis, of Newport; sister, Anna Davis, of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces, nephews; and very special friend and sister, Diane Simpson; and his grand dog, Lexi. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Scott Boerth and staff for all the wonderful care they have given him over the years. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Bryan McDonnell, Dr. Richard Prokopchak, Dr. Nelson Greene, and all the physicians and nurses on CCU and SICU for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Open Door Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Snider and Pastor Steve Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett, Va. Friends may call any time after noon on Monday and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg.
