Reed, Gary Ronald

Gary Ronald Reed, 68, of Pembroke, departed this life on Thursday morning, March 14, 2013, in the care of Heritage Hall Health Care in Blackstone, Va. Born in Goldbond, Va., on July 1, 1944, he was a son of the late Paul Sr. and Angela Wimmer Reed. He was a 1962 graduate of Giles High School; was retired from Celanese with over 37 years of service; was a devoted Christian; and a member of Olean Church of The Brethren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Reed Jr.; and his beloved wife, Nancy Wilson Reed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter and son-in-law, Hope and Wes Skeens, of Rich Creek; his sister, Teressa “Terri” Reed, of Pembroke; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, March 16, 2013, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. before the services.
