John Garner Davis, of Christiansburg, passed away at his home on Monday, March 11, 2013. He was born on April 21, 1939. John was a member of the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.M. and Pearl Davis; four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean P. Davis, of the home; his sons and daughter-in-law, John B. and Cindy Davis, of Christiansburg, and Jeffrey Davis, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine D. and Jared Hamlin, of Dalton, Ga.; granddaughter, Kelley Davis, of Christiansburg; grandson and granddaughters, Nathan, Grace, Georgia, and Giana Hamlin, of Dalton, Ga.; brothers and sister-in-law, Wesley and Verlie Davis, of Roanoke, and Charles Davis, of Christiansburg; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church, Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, with Pastor Richard Kingrea officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
