COOK, Nellie Elizabeth

Nellie Elizabeth Cook, 74, of Blacksburg died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center.

She was born in Montgomery County on December 11, 1931 to the late Willie A. and Lucy Gay Vaden Dove. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cook. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. She retired from New River Community College.

She is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Wayne Slusser, Blacksburg, Betty Tolley, Blacksburg, Ellen and Henry Dowdy, Bland; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Dove, Blacksburg, Gene and Janice Dove, Narrows; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Dowdy Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
