Davis, Carroll David

Carroll David Davis, 86 of Pearisburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.M. (Slim) Davis and Gladys Kelley Davis. Carroll was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel (Bike) Davis and Donald (Pee Wee) Davis. He served in the United States Air Corp. and the U.S. Air Force. Carroll retired after 33 years of service at Celanese Fibers. After retirement, he spent time farming and spoiling his grandchildren. The Sheffey Camp Ground and Ingram Village Church were close to his heart. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Mary Stafford Davis. He is also survived by their daughter, Joy Boutwell and her husband, Billy, of Williamsburg; two sisters, Betty Ross Raynes of Pearisburg; Ann and Jim Blankenship, Petersburg; one brother, Russ and Gail Davis, Ripplemead; two granddaughters, Tami Lee and husband, Ryan, of Highland Ranch, Colo.; Angie Clark and husband Jeff, of Newport News; two grandsons, Mike Boutwell, Jarrod Vass and wife, Heather, all of Newport News. He was blessed with two great-grandsons, Christian and Aiden Vass, of Newport News. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Ingram Village United Methodist Church, Pearisburg with the Rev. James Blankenship and the Rev. Ted Anders officiating. Military graveside rites by the Narrows V.F.W Post #6000, Narrows American Legion Post #68, Pembroke American Legion Post #311 and Peterstown American Legion Post #145 at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends during visitation at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate on Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m
