Lawson, William K. (Billy)

William K. (Billy) Lawson, of Pulaski, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was born in Pulaski on August 12, 1969, and was the youngest son of Glen Joseph Lawson and Lena Juanita Shrader Lawson. Billy was a graduate of Pulaski County High School (class of 1987). He continued his education by attending New River Community college studying Machine Technology. He began his career at Appalachian Machine, Inc. Billy was a cancer survivor since 1996 but had to live with many physical disabilities and complications resulting after the recovery including most recently several strokes. He was the father of two sons, Shane Lawson (20), and Tanner Lawson (19). Both sons reside in Pulaski. Billy was a devoted father and spent a great deal of time with his sons in activities including coaching their little league soccer teams, attending and cheering at basketball team games, and home activities including playing their favorite video games. Billy is survived by his parents, Glen and Juanita, of Pulaski; and four brothers, Michael Glen Lawson, of Greensboro, N.C., Stephen Wayne Lawson, of Allisonia, David Keith Lawson, of St. Marys, Ga., and Daniel Kevin Lawson, of Roanoke. He was also survived by two grandsons. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, for friends and family at the Stevens Funeral Home located in Pulaski.
