Sandridge, Michael James
Michael James Sandridge, 16, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013. He was a student at Glenvar High School, a member of the football and soccer teams, and an acolyte at St. Thomas Episcopal in Christiansburg. Those cherishing his memory and blessed by his life with them include his mother and father, Lisa Earp and Bayne Sandridge; his brother, Matthew; his grandfather, James E. (Buddy) Earp; his grandmother, Doris Sandridge; his aunts and uncles, Jim and Laura Earp, Bryan Sandridge, and Kelly and Chris Coleman; his cousins, Rachel and Andrew Earp and Andrew Via; and his pets, Nick, Emma, Sadie, and Nice Kitty.
Welcoming him in heaven are his grandmother, Jane Earp; and his grandfather, Myrle Sandridge.
Michael was loved and will be remembered for:
His kind soul.
His beautiful smile.
His sense of humor.
His unselfish nature.
His love of family and friends The way he never met a stranger.
How he loved life and lived it with joy and to the fullest.
All who knew him were touched by having him in their lives.
Michael was blessed over the last seven months to have the doctors, nurses, and staff of the 11th floor Pediatric Unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital become a part of his family.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Salem with assistance from Salem Presbyterian Church. The Very Rev. Phyllis A. Spiegel will celebrate, assisted by the Rev. Sarah Carper Morris and the Rev. Susan Bentley. A reception at the church will follow the celebration.
