bishop cosby daltonCosby Austin “Granny/Nannie” Bishop, 83, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her home in Christiansburg with her family by her side. She was born August 18, 1929 in Carroll County, a daughter of the late P. G. and Minnie Dalton. She was a retired cook, cashier, and I. D. checker at Radford University. She was also employed by Chris’s Restaurant & Catering for a number of years. She was a very caring and living person and was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by two brothers Everette Dalton and Clifford Dalton, as well as her little dog “Ratchet” of which she loved dearly. Surviving are a daughter, Janet A. Dunford and husband James; two grandsons, Frank and Greg King, all of Christiansburg; three great-grandchildren Brandon, Erika and Lacey King; one great-great grandson Eli King; two sisters, Vida Turman and husband Reaford, and Virginia Quesenberry and husband Diley; and many nieces and nephews, and several very dear friends, Betty Mans, Nina Poe, Lucille Duncan, Rita Lang, Ruth Austin and Nita Tolley. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Betsy King officiating. Interment will be private at the Lytton Cemetery in Walton.
