Spears, Leo (Pete)

Leo (Pete) Spears, 87, of 1108 Dillon St., Pulaski, died early Friday morning, December 21, 2012, in the Highland Ridge Rehab. Center, Dublin. He was born in Pulaski on May 16, 1925. He was a retired employee of Coleman Furniture, Pulaski, with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines, having served in World War II. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Spears; brothers-in-law, Franklin Carlton and Beverly Carlton Jr.; sisters-in-law, Hallie French and Rev. Etta Rossman; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, with VFW Post #1184 conducting military graveside rites. Visiting will be Monday from the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice . Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
