Gallimore, Ruth H.

Ruth H. Gallimore, 87, died November 28, 2012 at her residence. Her last breath here was her first with her Heavenly Father. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:15 p.m.on Saturday, December 1, 2012, with viewing at 1 p.m. at South Elm Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Gallimore. Ruth was born March 12, 1925, in Floyd to the late Clive and Ruby Hollandsworth. Mrs. Gallimore worked at P. Lorillard over 30 years. She was a loving and generous mother and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include children, Lynn Dale Gallimore (Linda), of Mooresville, Marlene Gallimore Maready, of Greensboro, N.C., Gary Gallimore (Rhonda), of Level Cross, Loretta Gallimore Johnson (Stephen) of Sandy Ridge, N.C., Kevin Gallimore Sr. of Greensboro, N.C., Winfred Gallimore (Diane), of Greensboro, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Bessie Cox ( Bernard), June Reynolds (Bill), Ardith Harris, Joan Henley, Joyce Henley (Donald); and two brothers, Randolph Hollandsworth (Edith) and Larry Hollandsworth (Sandra). Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon R. Gallimore, of 61 years; one sister, Majella Myers; three brothers, Newton, David and Hurbert Hollandsworth.
