Foglesong, Ruth Wright
Ruth Wright Foglesong, 92, of Pulaski, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. She was born on February 22, 1920, in Bland County, to the late Sallie Gusler Wright and Frank J. Wright. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former member of the Pulaski Music Club and the Thursday Club. She worked for 21 years at the old Pulaski Hospital Clinic, and the New River Internal Medicine Clinic at Pulaski Community Hospital. She was a member of the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley and volunteered at her church and at the Pulaski Community Hospital until her 19th year. She loved helping people and preferred that her gifts be anonymous. She was a great mother, a good neighbor, and a friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry N. Foglesong; and a brother, Carl R. “Bub” Wright. She is survived by two daughters, Kitty F. Hardt and Betty L. Foglesong, both of Richmond; and by her nieces, Nancy Colly and Carol Jean Wright, of Bland, Va. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Memorial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
