Norwood, Betty Jo Winfrey

Betty Jo Norwood, 69, of Shawsville, has gone home to be with her husband, Lynn Anton Norwood, on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Norwood and Margee; daughter, Beth N. Joyner and husband, Robert, all of Christiansburg; granddaughter, Summer Lynn Norwood; close friend, Vivian; special cousin, Nancy; brother, David Winfrey and wife, Carolyn; brother-in-law, James G. Norwood; sister-in-law, Linda N. Ring; as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty was a member of the VFW and a strong supporter of the Humane Society. She was also involved in the RSVP program, the Meadowbrook Library as well as the Meadowbrook Museum. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville.
