amem_flag.jpgMarion Roy “Bill” Cox Jr., age 83, of Pulaski, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski. He was born on Nov. 14, 1928 in Rural Retreat, the son of the late America Hawks Cox and Marion Roy Cox Sr.

Bill was a career Air Force Tech Sgt. for 22 years. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in Pythagoras Masonic Lodge 239 AF&AM where he served as Past Master, as well as a 50-year member, and was a member and Past Patron of the former Order of the Eastern Star 113 in Pulaski.

After Bill’s career in the military, he became the police chief of York County, Pa.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 3 p.m., at Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Lones officiating. Interment will be Monday, Nov. 19, 11 a.m., at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery where military honors will be provided. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. service time.
