Williams, Glenn Edward
Glenn Edward Williams, 78, of 190 Cook Road, Roebuck, S.C., died Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 28, 1928, in Radford, Va., he was the son of the late Edgar B. and Bessie Wilson Williams.
He attended Virginia Polytechnical Institute and was retired from Lockwood-Green Engineers after 30 years of service. He was a member of Evangel Cathedral and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ashley Williams; a daughter, Dawn Williams Patterson and her husband David of Roebuck, S.C.; two sons, Mark K. William and his wife Sundra of Woodruff, S.C. and Nathan D. Williams of Roebuck, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jonathan Patterson, Rachel Owens and her husband Joel, Jason D. Williams, and Jessica Lynn Williams; and three sisters, Marie Abee of Christiansburg, Va., Peggy Hammond of Radford, Va., and Bette Wampler of Springfield, Va. He was predeceased by a son, Glenn E. “Chip” Williams II; and a sister, Julia Johnston.
Visitation will be 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Jan King and the Rev. David Powell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Nicaragua Orphanage Fund, c/o Evangel Cathedral, 500 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29301.
