Simpkins, Lucille Moore

Lucille Moore Simpkins, 89, of Radford, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in a Pulaski Nursing Home.

She was a retired employee of Radford university. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Simpkins; a daughter, Irene Simpkins; two brothers, Truman Moore and Carless Moore; and two sisters, Opal McGuire and Louise Linkous.

Surviving are two sons, James Simpkins and his wife, Phylis of Pearisburg and Roger Simpkins of Snowville; two daughters, Wanda Simpkins of Blacksburg and Carolyn Vickerman and her husband, Duane, of Colorado; six grandchildren, Roger Dean Simpkins and Kim Simpkins of Radford, Connie Viar of Christiansburg, Bobby Boothe of Dublin, Susan Viars of Max Meadows, and Christine Crouch of Colorado; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild also survives.

The family wishes to express their many thanks to the nursing staff at Pulaski Rehab and Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at The DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
