Stigger Sr., Governor Shead

Governor Shead Stigger Sr., 79, of Dublin, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his son, Governor Stigger Jr. and grandson, Jason Levi Stigger. Governor leaves a wife of 55 years, Loretta B. Stigger, of Dublin; sisters, Olivia Casey, of Maryland and Bertha Parson (Elder Leroy Parson Sr.), of Roanoke; daughters, Betty Stigger, of New River and Janet Smith, of Roanoke; son, David Stigger, of Dublin; special children, Chantal Broome (Donald), of Pulaski, Malcolm Stigger, of Radford and Alieyanna, of Dublin; grandchildren, Necole Smith, of Roanoke, Pvt. Courtney Smith (Jacke), of Hinesville, Ga., Jacob Stigger, of Dublin, and Jade Stigger, of Christiansburg; great-grandchildren, Xavier Brown, of Roanoke, Alleiah Stigger, of Christiansburg, Brandon Smith, of North Carolina, and Madison Smith, of Hinesville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Kitty Huff, of Floyd; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at First Missionary Baptist Church, New River. Interment will be in New River Cemetery, New River.
