martin william macWilliam Mac Martin, 70 of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on September 8th, 1942 and was the son of the late Eldridge Richard and Lillian Maxwell Frazier Martin. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Martin, Jr. and Joe Lindal Martin; and three sisters, Katheryn E. Nepstad, Arbutus Nelson, and Lucille V. Bell. A retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 36 years service, While Mac loved gardening and canning, his favorite pastime was dining out with friends and family. When not in his garden, one could find him on his front porch swing, literally “just a swingin’.” A loving father, grandfather and brother, Mac was full of life, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Katrina Lynn Shockley of Pulaski; granddaughters Alexa Shockley and Grace Shockley; brothers Jerry Martin, David Martin, Bobby Martin, Pete Martin, and Raymond Martin, all of Giles County; a sister, Peggy Fish and husband John of Mooresville, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous special friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
