Stafford, James Edward (Jimmy)
James Edward (Jimmy) Stafford, 75 of Staffordsville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stafford was born on February 9, 1937, in Princeton, W.Va. and was a son of the late Henry Stuart Stafford and Mary Edna Sadler. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Yong Ja (Kim) Stafford. Mr. Stafford was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Bane for 50 years and also was a Sunday School Discussion Leader. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as the Postmaster at the Staffordsville Post Office. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Kim Stafford Falls and husband, Randy, of Craig Co.;one son, James Stuart Stafford, of Bay City, Texas; three grandchildren, Joshua Yong Wolfe and wife, Amanda, Jessica Raeann Stafford, Victoria Marie Donithan; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Paige Wolfe, Savanna Marie Perkins, Seanna Leigh Perkins; two brothers, Robert (Bobby) Stafford and wife, Diane, of Oliver Springs, Tenn., William (Billy) Stafford and wife, Linda, of Pearisburg; two sisters, Kathryn Brown and husband, Frank, of Pearisburg and Janice Blankenship and husband, Buddy, of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Bane with the Rev. Amy Bartee officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg.
