Wingo, Sr., Houston Phillip
Houston Phillip Wingo, Sr., 83 of Pulaski died Thursday September 6, 2012 in Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. He was born on May 5, 1929, grew up in Pulaski where he graduated from high school. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ray and Daphne Fagg Wingo and was lucky enough to be a big brother to Vera Wingo Slack who resides in Ravenswood, Wva. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Lathom Wingo; daughter Connie Wingo Marshall (Larry) of Allisonia; sons Phillip Wingo (Shelby) of Radford, David Wingo (Tammie) of Dublin, stepsons Jim Casteele (Sherry) of Pulaski, Kirk Casteele (Heather) of Floyd, stepdaughters Judy Casteele of Buena Vista and Jean Casteele Berryman (George) of Moyock, NC. He was proud to be the grandfather of nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. His sister-in-law is Sue Lathom of Kannapolis, NC and he had many nieces and nephews. Houston was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pulaski. He retired, after dedicating many years of service, from Radford Army Ammunition Plant. If you knew Houston, you were his friend. He loved to share a joke and old Wingo sayings. The family wishes to thank Dr. D’Amico and Dr. Williams and staff at Pulaski Rehabilitation Center for their kind and caring service.
