Vest, Clara Anna Lee Robertson
Clara Anna Lee Robertson Vest, 83, of Hopewell, and formerly of Rich Creek, departed this life on Monday, September 3, 2012, at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell. She was born in Princeton, W.Va., on January 2, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Bennett Roosevelt and Willie Douglas Snider Robertson. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Mason Vest; and four brothers, Jack Buford Robertson, Harold Dean Robertson, Thomas Frederick Robertson, and Benny Randall Robertson. A retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 42 years service, Anna Lee was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Narrows. An avid bridge player, she also loved to travel. A loving mother and sister, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry G. Robertson and wife, Bonnie, of Henrico, Va.; a daughter, Deborah V. Taylor and husband, Richard, of Hopewell; two sisters, Phyllis Wanda Richards, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mary Marguerite Hebb, of Princeton; two brothers, Eddie Ray Robertson and wife, Myrtle (Bertie) Robertson, of Narrows, and Bishop William Douglas Robertson and wife, Shelby Jeanne, of Emporia, Va.; a sister-in-law, Annie Mae Robertson, of Prince George, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows on Friday, September 7, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton with Bishop William Douglas Robertson officiating.
