Wallace, Kristin Alls

Kristin Alls Wallace left this world on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born on February 8, 1965, in Silver Spring, Md. The daughter of Ike and Judy Southern, she grew up in Princeton, W.Va., and graduated from Princeton High School in 1983. She graduated from Concord College, and earned her Master of Arts in Education from Virginia Tech in December 2011. She worked in the Division of Students with Disabilities at Virginia Tech and was recognized for outstanding service as a liaison to the families of the 2007 Virginia Tech tragedy. As a member of the Pearisburg community, she was active in the GFWC Pearisburg Junior Woman’s Club and served as First Vice President. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Kristin volunteered as a den mother for Cub Scout Troop 134. Kristin is survived by her husband, Travis Wallace; and her children, Jarrod Alls, Kellan Alls, and Jacob Wallace. She is also survived by her brother, Shane Southern; and sister, Karen Martin. Kristin loved horses, art, and the ocean. She gave freely of her gifts and herself. She will be missed. Her family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the support of the Pearisburg community, especially the kindness and generosity of her friends in the Junior Woman’s Club and her church family from First United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church of Pearisburg, and a Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pearisburg Junior Woman’s Club, P.O.
