Brown, Mary Elizabeth

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Brown, 80, of Blacksburg, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Monday, February 5, 2007, at Richfield Retirement.

She was born in Albany, New York on February 10, 1926 to the late Frank and Marguerite Perry Brownell and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Brown.

Betty was a devoted homemaker and an accomplished violinist and violin teacher. She never lost her sense of wonder at the beauty of God’s creation.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and John Anderson of Blacksburg, Debbie and Mike Cate of Asheville, N.C.; son, Robert Stark Brown of Lumberton, N.J.; sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Don Crepon of Naples, Fla.; sister-in-law, Ann Hatch of Carson City, Nev.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

There will be no local services. A memorial service will be held in Vermont in June. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
