Saunders Jr., Mack Louis

Mack Louis Saunders Jr., 71, of Hiwassee, died Monday, August 6, 2012, in the Lewis-Gale Salem Hospital. He was born in Pulaski Co. on September 12, 1940, and was the son of the late Maxwell Lewis Saunders Sr. and Hallie Crowder Saunders. He was a retired Operations Switchman with APCO. Surviving are his wife, Faye Duncan Saunders; daughter, Susan Alderman and her husband, Brad; son, Mark Saunders and his wife, Annette; sister, Sylvia Smith; brothers, David Saunders and Sammy Saunders; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated but memorials can be made to the American Heart Association , 4504 Starkey Rd., SW, Suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24014.
