Spicer Jr., William Ernle (Bill)

William Ernle (Bill) Spicer Jr., 85, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born on March 16, 1927, to the late William Ernle Sr. and Reva Mahanes Spicer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Spicer; and sisters, Virginia Shaw Spicer and Nancy Jane Spicer. He was a retired accountant for Virginia Electric Power, a member of Christ Episcopal Church as well as the Blacksburg Lions Club. He is survived by his one sister, Ann Spicer Harris, of Charlottesville; nieces, Jane-Ashley Skinner and husband, Peter, Angela Shaw Durrer; great-nephews, Jay Everett and Jerry Durrer; numerous relatives, friends and church family. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in the Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Scott West officiating followed by a reception in the parish hall.
