morris willard alfredWillard Alfred (Wig) Morris, 82, of Ellett, passed away to his heavenly home Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery, with his family by his side. He was born in McCoy on April 18, 1930 to the late William Taft and Vergie Mae McCoy Morris, and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin DeWayne Early, and a sister, Zana Webb. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Marie Morris; his daughters, Cheryl (Jimmy) Boley, Sheila Early; his beloved grandchildren, Heather Early and fiance, Bobby Flint, Brandy Mills and fiance, Matthew Stiltner, Randall and Brandi Womack; special great-grandchildren, Erin, Emma, Kelly, Katie and five stepgreat-grandchildren, McKinley, Jimmi, Issac, Christian and Eli; loving brothers and sisters, Howard Morris, Ronnie (Christine) Morris, Emily “Judy” (Joel) Hart, Mary Ellen (Richard) Graham, Rita (Ricky) Smith; numerous special nieces and nephews; special farming buddies, Dale Martin, Terry Early, and Jimmy Boley. The family greatly appreciates the loving care received at the UVA Stroke Unit, Roanoke Acute Therapy and Rehab, Montgomery Regional Hospital ICU and 2nd floor, nurses, aides and doctors, Highland Ridge Rehab Center, Dublin, and especially his niece, Martha Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Brugger officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Fire Department, 407 Hubbard Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060, the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, VA 24060, LongShop-McCoy Fire and First Aid, Box 489, McCoy, VA 24111, or a charity of your choice . Friends may call any time after noon on Friday, and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
