Lucas Sr., William L. (Bud)
William Lacy (Bud) Lucas Sr., of Narrows, departed this life on Thursday morning, July 26, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arista, W.Va. on June 14, 1937, to Willie Green and Genoa Robertson Lucas. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Lucas and Nellie Jarvis. William was employed by Hercules Radford Arsenal, retiring in 1990 after 35 years of service, where he had many friends, and also worked at Lee’s Body Shop, which became his second family. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Patsy Tiller Lucas; and five loving children, Willie Lucas and wife, Debbie, of Narrows, Keith Lucas and wife, Karen, of Salem, Sharon Lucas Bell, of Buchannon, W.Va., Karen and Paul Hale, of Narrows, and Billy Lucas and friend, Ruben, of Long Beach, Calif. Also left to cherish his memory are eight grandchildren that he adored, Josh and Jessica Lucas, Beth Eppling and husband, Adam, Andy Mullins and Cecelia, Audry Litton, Alston, Logan, and Claire Lucas, and Paula Hale; four great-grandchildren, Nolan and Miles Eppling, Cameron Mullins and Landon Profitt; and many numerous friends. A very special thanks to Lee Blaker and his friends at Lee’s Body Shop. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows, with Brother Tommy Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
