Copeland Jr., Albert Lewis (Butch)

Albert Lewis (Butch) Copeland Jr., 68, of Rich Creek, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Born February 19, 1944 at Pearisburg, he was the son of the late Albert L. Sr. and Leona Thompson Copeland. Butch worked for the Norfolk Southern Corp. as a Conductor for 27 years. He attended the Riverview Baptist Church at Ripplemead, loved to fish, spending time with family and friends and enjoyed going to concerts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary L. Copeland and a daughter, Leigh Ann Copeland. Survivors include two sons, Byron Scott Copeland and wife, Karen, of Pearisburg, and Shawn M. Copeland, of Rich Creek; one brother, William I. Copeland and wife, Connie, of Pearisburg; grandchildren, Brandon Lankford, Kendra Copeland, Hannah Brooks, Macayla and Bretta Copeland; two great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Betty Reed of Lindside, W.Va. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va. with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellison Cemetery, Rock Camp, W.Va. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the funeral home.
