Walson, Pinkey Black

Pinkey Cornelia Black Walson, of Radford, died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2012, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was the eldest of four children and was born on August 28, 1929, to the late Garland and Sallie Black of Radford, Va. Pinkey is survived by two children, Richard Walson III, of Greensboro, N.C., and Mayla Georgina Walson, of Radford, Va.; two sisters, Amy Ruth Graves, of Radford, Va., and Alice Catherine Bond, of New River, Va.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and many additional family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at New Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Russell Avenue in Radford, Va.
