prillaman sr cecil rCecil R. Prillaman Sr., of Pulaski, passed away June 16, 2012. He was born in Henry August 23, 1917, and was preceded in death by his parents, Crockett Lee and Minnie Hall Prillaman; and his wife, Nellie Aust Prillaman. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Charlie Marshall, Gertrude, Elizabeth, Jesse, Bernice, Ocie, Christine, Gold, Betty Ruth, and Robert; and by his daughter-in-law, Kaye Catron Prillaman. Surviving him are sons and daughter, William Norman Prillaman, of Forest, Cecil Roy Prillaman Jr. (Mercedes), of Roanoke, and Lucy Prillaman Howlett, of Pulaski; six grandchildren, William Norman Prillaman II (Sonya), of Forest, Amy Prillaman Cardwell (Bobby), of Altavista, Robert Anthony Prillaman, of Roanoke, Erin Prillaman Dietsch (Nick), of Durham, N.C., Sarah Caitlin Howlett and Carly Jane Howlett. of Pulaski; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Cecil worked as a linotype machinist at the Southwest Times for 23 years and then transferred to the Roanoke Times where he worked as an offset machinist until his retirement in 1981. The family will receive friends at Stevens Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Stevens with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
