brown frank williamFrank William Brown, 82, of Buena Vista Farm, Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012, in the Wheatland Hills Retirement Center, Radford. He was born in Blacksburg on March 29, 1930, and was the son of the late Robert Walter Brown and Margaret Watson Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Clark Brown, by a brother, Robert Walter Brown, and by a grandson, Joshua Wayne Brown. Frank was founder and co-owner of Buena Vista Farms, Inc, Pulaski. During the 1970s and 1980s, he owned and operated Brown Brothers Trucking. Frank was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Robinson Tract Ruritan Club, a long-time board member of SWVA Farm Credit, and served on numerous other farm related boards. He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, Class of 1947. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret B. and Mark Hicks, Pearisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Karen Buckland Brown, Pulaski; grandchildren and spouses, Nathan K. Brown and Cari, Palmyra, Anna C. Stevens Moore and Brandon, Forest; great-grandchildren, Sean Wyatt Brown, Palmyra, Clare Evelyn Brown, Palmyra; nephew and spouse, Doug and Edna Brown, Eden, N.C.; great-niece, Mary Ann Graham; great-nephew, Jeremy Brown; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at Stevens Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Johnny Howlett and the Rev. Teresa Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Frank’s family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to all who cared for him the past few months, especially the Wheatland Hills Retirement Center staff and Southern Care Hospice. The family will be meeting and receiving friends at the home of Bobby and Karen Brown, 5531 Buena Vista Rd., Pulaski.
