Bolen, Lois Marie Elkins

Lois Marie Elkins Bolen, 82, of Pulaski, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Bedford County Nursing Home, surrounded by her adoring family. Born August 12, 1929, Lois was the daughter of the late Archie Elkins and the late Laura Roseberry Elkins Milsaps, and spent her life as a resident of Pulaski. Lois leaves her beloved husband of 56 years, Gerald Bolen; two daughters, Mildred Bolen, of Pulaski and Alice Fordham and her husband, Larry, of Forest; two granddaughters, Andra Bostic and her husband, Will, of Bedford and Laurel Pavia and her husband, Anthony, of Forest; two great-granddaughters, Syndey and Myleigh Bostic. Lois grew up with her two precious sisters, Laura Brillheart, of Dublin, who was married to the late J. B. Brillheart Jr. and Mildred Bolen, of Lynchburg, who was married to the late John Bolen. Her beloved nieces, nephews and their families filler her life with joy. Lois was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pulaski. She loved playing bridge with her friends. She enjoyed being outside gardening of just soaking up the sun!. Her captivating smile and her contagious laughter will be greatly missed by those who treasured her! Lois’ family wishes to extend thanks to all those who cared for her over the past year, especially those who were there with her at the end: the staff of the Bedford County Nursing Home and Bedford Hospice Care. The family will receive visitors at the Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. After the visitation, the funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., with burial immediately following in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those whishing to make memorial contributions, please consider the Nursery Fund at First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, where she served for years.
