Carter, Rosa Lee
Rosa Lee Carter, 79, formerly of Pulaski and Dublin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Bloomington, Ind. She was born on August 24, 1932, in Pulaski, and was the daughter of John Carter and Amelia (Davis) Carter.
She was a former employee of Radford Arsenal Plant, and a homemaker. She was an active member of First Baptist Church on Magazine Street for many years.
Survivors include two sons, James Milton (Carol) Carter, of Bloomington, Ind. and Richard Maurice Carter, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Rosa Carter Simmons, of Roanoke; three brothers, Edward Carter of Pulaski, Rev. Golden J. Carter of Axton, and Gerald (Barbara) Carter of Fernandina Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Jeff(Nicole) Carter of Indianapolis, IN, Jared Carter of Bloomington, IN, Durell and Jamal Carter of Oklahoma City, OK, Andrew and Searria Simmons of Roanoke; one great-grandson, Avery Nathan Carter of Indianapolis, IN, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deborah Denise Carter; five brothers, William Carter, James “Little Bit” Carter, John Henry Carter, Robert Carter, and Gabriel Carter.
Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2012, from noon until time of service at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Magazine Street, with the Rev. Douglas Patterson, officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Penn’s Funeral Home, 231 Randolph Avenue, Pulaski.
